Wooster City Schools offers open enrollment statewide, limited to maximum enrollment thresholds, in grades K-12. Applications are accepted between May 1 and August 1st for the following school year. The exceptions are resident students who move away during any given school year. They may apply for open enrollment for the remainder of that school year. Students who have been previously admitted via inter-district open enrollment shall be given preference over new applicants, prioritized by number of years of attendance. Other open enrollment applicants will be prioritized by the date their application was received. No applications will be accepted prior to May 1.
All open enrollment applications will be acted upon and parents notified. By August 1, the parent must notify Wooster City Schools of their acceptance or rejection of open enrollment. Failure to respond will forfeit their application for that year. The administration will determine building assignments. There is no guarantee that the building assignment will prevail in subsequent years. All approved transfers are in effect for one school year. Non-resident students must re-apply each year.
Please understand that there will be no transportation for students who are on open enrollment.Parents will be required to transport all students on open enrollment. |
