The Wooster City Schools has an active partnership with United Way. The Wooster City Schools also actively participates in the Family & Children First Council. The Wayne County Family & Children First Council originally began as the Children’s Cluster in 1986. The purpose was to coordinate services for children involved in multiple systems. Their mission was developed in 1990 and remains: to promote coordination and collaboration among local government, not for profit organizations, businesses and parents for the benefit of Wayne County’s children. Wooster City School’s superintendent is one of the 22 members of the Board of Trustees, which represents the community and downtown Wooster dealing with issues that directly affect the downtown commercial core and its goal to remain economically viable. http://mainstreetwooster.org
The Wooster City Schools also partners with the Business Advisory Council (BAC) which is a committee of Wooster area experienced business and professional people who serve as a resource to the Wooster City School System. The Council consists of 25-35 business or professional executives. In addition, senior level administrators from the Central Office of the Wooster City Schools and School Board members serve as ex-officio members of the Business Advisory Council.
The Wooster City Schools is actively involved in the Wooster Unity Project. The Wooster Unity Project’s purpose is to heighten awareness of the diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds in our community.

The Wooster City School’s superintendent is also actively involved on the steering committee for the Jazz and Arts Festival.
