You may complete and submit an online application at any time. By selecting a licensure area or specific job classification in the Position Available section, your application will become visible to our administrative team while you wait for a specific position of interest to open. 

Once a specific position of interest opens, you will find it in the Vacancy Available section with an associated JOB ID. All you will need to do is log into your online application and click on the box next to the specific vacancy/JOB ID you wish to apply for and re-submit. Please know that you MUST add any vacancy available postions to your application to guarantee consideration for that specific position.

All substitutes - daily, long-term and contract - are considered external candidates as are all Generals Club-only and supplemental-only employees regardless of the application type submitted.

Emails will continue to be sent out district-wide for all internal and external postings. All regular full-time and part-time staff should apply as an internal candidates.

Substitute Employment: 

• Substitute Teachers and Substitute Paraprofessionals: The Wooster City School District uses the Tri-County Educational Service Center, 741 Winkler Dr, Wooster, to hire all of its substitute teachers and substitute paraprofessionals. If you would like to substitute in either capacity for Wooster City Schools, please visit Tri-County ESC or call Karen Miller at 330-345-6771, ext. 228, to apply. 

• Substitute Bus Drivers: Apply online or contact the Transportation Department at 330-988-1111, ext. 1600.

• Substitute Custodians: Apply online or contact Sherri Prindle, Custodial Supervisor, at 330-988-1111, ext. 1510.

Calamity Days and Substitutes:

For important notifications regarding the Wooster City School District, substitutes should click on COMMUNICATION to learn about all the ways they may receive current information directly from the district. In the event of a closing or delay, the following local/regional media are also alerted: Wooster Radio Station WQKT and Cleveland Television Stations 3 (WKYC), 8 (FOX8), 5 (WEWS) and 19 (WOIO). School closing information is also posted on the main page of the district website as well as Facebook and Twitter. Every effort will be made to cancel substitutes as early as possible in the event of a district-wide or building-specific calamity day.

Supplemental Jobs: Coaching is considered a supplemental position. Please use our supplemental application (Supplementals/Athletics or Supplemental/Activities and the particular season) to apply for any available coaching or advising positions unless there is a specific job posting listed.
