Wooster High School is excited to host a midseason robotics tournament. The Wooster Robotics: Tower Takeover VEX HS/MS Qualifier takes place on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, and is open to all middle school and high school robotics teams.
“Our teams have been working hard at perfecting their robots, and we are really looking forward to hosting this tournament at our home base,” said Jacob Melrose, head robotics coach for Wooster High School. “This is a really cool event and we hope the community comes out to support these students and their ingenuity.”
The tournament features three fields – two fields for the competition and one field for skills/practice with the potential of an additional practice field. Teams are expected to arrive by 7:30 a.m. Qualifying matches begin at 9 a.m. and the tournament begins at 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided to each team, and there is also a hospitality room for coaches, advisors and volunteers. Admission for spectators is free.
“We are looking forward to showcasing the creativity and enthusiasm these students have for robotics,” said the Director of Secondary Education Richard Leone. “We are proud of what the Wooster robotics teams have been able to accomplish and wish them luck in the tournament this weekend!”
