Beginning January of 2023, all students at Wooster High School will be issued a Chromebook to use while at school and home for their school work. The Technology Department and High School Administration will be communicating full details to all families over the next couple of months. Some noteable items of this initiative are:
-
students will be assigned a Chromebook device that will remain with them until graduation
-
the Chromebook will have an Internet filter that works at both school and home regardless of the wifi it is attached to
-
the school issued Chromebook is the only device students are allowed to use while at school. Students who have a personal device (laptop, tablet) should plan to use the school-issued Chromebook while at school
-
specialty classes at Wooster High School (Project Lead the Way, Computer Science, Blade and Yearbook) will maintain their current desktops & specialized software
-
students will be responsible for the care of the Chromebook. An optional device coverage fee of $30 per year ($15 for this half-year) will be offered to families to cover the cost of repairs due to accidental damage. Sign up for this coverage will need to be completed prior to Febraury 15th for current students for the 22-23 school year.
Parents of Wooster High School students should look for emails of additional details prior to the Chromebook roll-out in January.
